Ahh the lesser spotted techno mix on the even-lesser spotted DJ Mix Of The Week, this week featuring Nastia, the ever-interesting Ukrainian techno DJ.
I first heard Nastia playing minimal techno – I forget whether it was a whole set of minimal, or perhaps more likely the warm-up to techno.
Given that Nastia’s life, like so many in Ukraine, has been turned upside-down by some megalomaniac monster in a neighbouring country, it is probably befitting that she really does play quite tough techno nowadays – a mood which she confirmed in a fairly recent interview with RA.
It’s a fairly fast and pumping mix, without ever getting too dark or heavy – and by time 30 minutes are up, we are into a rather stripped-back yet pumping vibe, with a totally classic track that I’ve forgotten.
Nastia doesn’t really pause or slow down, though towards the end there is a slightly relaxing of the pace, and it does become more melancholic.
A fine techno mix, and well mixed – my enjoyment rating of 6.65.
Oh…FUCK PUTIN.
