So Marcel Dettmann did a few one hour radio shows for NTS in late 2023, and Current Gems is my favourite one.

I shouldn’t need to tell you who Marcel Dettmann is – a resident DJ at Berghain with pretty exquisite taste in techno and electro – more famed for the former, but electro is arguably a larger part of his musical being than people generally know.

The show starts fairly tough and abrasive but then mellows out for a while, whilst still remaining vaguely techno.

It peaks (in my opinion) when he plays his own monster of a track, Mission, but that is after playing tracks from the likes of Nightmares on Wax and Byron The Aquarius, so there is a fair mix of sounds on here.

Weirdly this Soundcloud link has the show repeating, so it plays for an hour then plays again for an hour.

Enjoyment rating of 6.81.

There are better Marcel Dettmann mixes out there, but I enjoyed this 4-part look into his soul, especially the current gems show.
