DJ Mix Of The Week

It’s new DJ time! This week featuring roelien.

New to me, of course, she’s been DJing for a fair few years now, mostly in Amsterdam, in clubs such as De School, Benelux Bar, Garage Noord, etc.

There seems to be two sides to roelien, one is a rather eclectic side – her Friday is a Sunday mix series with Lien is a mixture of slower sounds, not even solely electronic sounds. But the other side is a rather dishy minimalistic sound – which regular readers (me) won’t be too surprised I’m featuring.

The mix isn’t too far away from 3 hours long, and with Dubtil’s Indoiala played fairly early, I had a feeling I’d enjoy this enough to write a few words about it.

The mix chugs along delicately, I note at least one track from Barac, it veers between more drum tracks, some deep house at times, some dark minimal at times – it does flow really nicely.

She’s also a rare DJ that actually seems to respond to ID requests on Soundcloud, so maybe check her out before she gets too busy.
