I suspect many of you know this, but Mixmag run a series called In The Lab, where DJs from a variety of styles of dance music, do 1.5 hour sets – broadcast live and in video format every Friday.

For this episode, Cristi Cons and Vlad Caia – two of the most respected and exciting stars of the Romanian minimal scene – provided 1.5 hours of hypnotic, minimal bliss. They play together as SIT but I’m sticking with their individual artist names as they both need to be followed individually too.

It reaches a real highlight around the 30m mark, with the blissful Wake Me Up When It’s Over by Tripmastaz – a Russian producer/DJ that I know little about.

Following this, the mix goes back into itself, almost as if a reset button had been pressed and we are going down an alternative tunnel. Deep basslines and plenty of groove, it seems to get deeper and darker as it goes on.

Quite a wonderful 1.5 hours, and hopefully you’ll enjoy it as much as I have – it has very much been on repeat! Enjoyment rating of 8.43.
