Alex Font – Ibiza Voice Podcast
- Post DateFri Jun 10 2016
So it seems that the Ibiza Voice podcast series has finally got past the stage of every podcast being a really dull, predictable tech-house mix. Let’s hope the island’s bars and clubs can assert a greater range of dance music this summer than thud thud thud look at my muscles.
But who is Alex Font? No, we had no idea either. A quick search on Google will take you to font foundries which is not massively helpful unless you are a designer. No profile on Resident Advisor either.
He appears to be Spanish, probably from Valencia, and has a well-trimmed moustache.
This mix starts somewhat slowly with some gorgeous introductory atmospheric minimal. It almost becomes mournful for a while before settling into the most wonderful dreamy, hypnotic groove.
By the hour mark, it is almost becoming a little forceful, yet has all the quirky noises that often charm within the deeper details of minimal tracks.
The mix carries on rather engrossingly with many pleasantly upbeat minimal tracks – a refreshing sound from a podcast series that had become very stale until recent months.
Another DJ to watch out for over the coming years. We hope you enjoy.
