DJ Mix Of The Week

Back into my safety zone with another Romanian minimal DJ, Cap.

One of the not so new wave of Romanian minimal DJs, Cap has been on my radar for a while, though I know very little else about him – if he produces, then I have not heard his productions, I just seem to come across one of his mixes from time to time, and it is now time to feature one.

This stretches out to nearly 3 hours, which is always going to delight me, recorded for the usually-excellent Trommel podcast series.

Yet I’m not sure you can call this mix minimal. Maybe in structure, maybe in belief but a lot of the music is actually house or techno, tracks such as Nina Kraviz’s Show Me Your Time, or perhaps an edit of, I’m not sure – don’t strike me as too minimal.

And the mix definitely starts more on the house tip, though it does tend towards minimal towards the hour-mark, the tracks play for longer, the mixing feels more languid, the vibe is more chilled.

But yeah, it’s mostly house. Who cares anyway, this near 3 hours of music from Cap is damn enjoyabe.
