Benny S – Nightclubber Podcast 216
Back to house music for this week’s showcase, with Benny S‘ mix for Nightclubber.
Another one of those DJs that I know very little about, having pretty much just heard this mix – though also I vaguely feel I’ve seen his name around in London.
From what I can see, he’s a fairly steady house music DJ, playing the clubs of London from time to time, with varying releases – with a lean to the more underground.
The mix itself is approaching 90 minutes long, it starts on the deeper level, and is growing quite nicely when one of my all-time favourites, Float by Sandy Rivera is played (a track that doesn’t necessarily sound “Sandy Rivera” of Defected fame).
Benny S does the gradually building thing nicely, and after a while there is more groove and solid beats, with tracks by the likes of Seb Zito and Boo Williams, for example. Tracks you have a good chance of having heard before, but solid, good house music.
It’s all very solidly enjoyable.
Enjoyment rating of 7.20.
